Since 1988, Medical Indicators Inc. (MII) has been one of the largest global manufacturers of disposable and reusable medical thermometers. Our Tempa•DOT®, NexTemp®, and TraxIt® thermometers are trusted by medical professionals around the world for their accuracy and efficiency in temperature readings.
Medical Indicators’ products are single-use and/or single patient clinical thermometers used to aid major healthcare facilities such as hospitals, dialysis clinics, national health systems, and blood collection centers in reducing the incidence of Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAIs).
All Medical Indicators thermometers are non-hazardous, non-toxic, natural rubber latex free, and are manufactured in a United States FDA-registered facility.
How it Works
Our Precision Phase Change Technology is used in a dot matrix that is comprised of heat-sensitive crystals. These crystals contain a unique formulation of chemistry that is designed to react, or change color, at a specific temperature. Each dot has been custom formulated to react and change color at its precise temperature point. The number of dots that fire is dependent upon a patient’s temperature – with the last dot to fire, or change color, providing the accurate reading.
On top of this remarkable innovation, our thermometers undergo two-stage precision accuracy testing throughout the manufacturing process to ensure we meet the requirements of both nationally and internationally recognized testing standards. We also utilize precision-calibrate water baths to confirm their accuracy and reliability and implement routine testing of our FDA & ISO certified production facility. All of this allows us to provide users with peace of mind knowing that Medical Indicators thermometers are safe, reliable, and accurate.
